The Patient Blood Management expert meeting in Austria, called by the World Health Organization 🌎, left great postcards, but above all, the certainty that #PBM is not just a change in clinical practice, it is a comprehensive health program, one of the most important of our time and, therefore, both the WHO and the external scientific committee, they are working hard to integrate this program into the world‘s healthcare systems. 🩸
The implementation of a program like this must come from the health authorities of each country, the hospital administration, and finally, settle on a cross–sectional and multidisciplinary team that can adapt a continuity model of care to the different realities. Meetings like this project the routes and protocols that make it possible. 🩸
With each action we are closer to achieving our goals, and each day the awareness of the need for change increases. It is no longer a question of knowing if PBM will be the new norm, the question is when? …. We say: Now!
